Meet The Founder, Melanie Shaw

Melanie's Story

Melanie Shaw has spent the past two decades teaching and serving as faculty and administration in online higher education. She is a professor and Academic Program Director at National University. Melanie has written several books and won multiple awards, including the Wagner Award for Outstanding Instructional Support and the Online Learning Consortium's Effective Practice Award. She has a bachelor's in Liberal Studies and Music, a master's degree in Education Administration, a second master's degree in School Counseling, a Doctor of Naturopathy, and a Ph.D. in Education. She is the mother of two beautiful adult daughters and wife to a professional musician. In addition to her education and family roles, she is invested in her role in the Atlanta art community as the founder of the nonprofit Art Share Foundation! Since the foundation's inception, Melanie has helped guide, teach, and give back to her creative community.

This organization was founded to foster a vibrant and inclusive community through the transformative power of the arts. Her ultimate goal is to make art accessible to all, with a particular focus on public engagement in Atlanta. She believes art has the unique ability to unite people and inspire collective action toward a more connected and positive society. Her optimism and kind heart have inspired others to join in this movement of spreading light and love.

She thanks you wholeheartedly for any interest you may have in the Art Share Foundation!
